Jason Schwartzman “Bored to Death” | shotguneddie Edition
Now that Football is back on TV is hard for me to get out of the couch on Sundays. I end up catching the morning, afternoon and night game. Some might think it’s a bit excessive but for some odd reason I find it liberating.
Once the night game was finished I flipped over to HBO to catch the season premiere of Bored to Death, and I have to admit it’s better than i expected. Jason Schwartzman plays a  confused New York writer who has just broken up with his girlfriend because of excessive drug and alcohol use. Due to his writers block he gets bored a lot and decides to post a craigslist ad offering his private detective expertise (in which he has none) for a small fee. I’ll stop now and just let you watch the show..
One of the things I liked about the show was Jason’s wardrobe. I found a few pieces that resemble his wardrobe/style here.
A.P.C Petit Standard Corduroy  - $210
These are my new finds that I must get. I really like the Petit Standard fit so it just make sense to pick these up. The corduroy seems a bit different, a bit more durable when you see pants. The price is a bit premium but the fit makes up for it.
J. Crew Vintage Chambray Utility Shirt - $98
I picked up this shirt at the Camarillo outlet but unfortunately i’ve only worn it twice. It’s hard to pull off with jeans, it just feels a bit over done. The way Jason was wearing the shirt was perfect. Tucked in with some pants instead of denim. The shirt was $45 at the outlet = savings close to 50% off.
Casio Vintage - $34
I honestly don’t see the point with spending hundreds/thousands of dollars on a watch. I don’t think you should cheap out on it either. If the watch feels and looks right for your outfit that’s all that should matter. A vintage Casio is a bit overused nowadays but still worth having, considering the price here.
Common Projects Desert Boots - $332
I’ve rambled about these boots a few times on here. Perfect color and shape. What more can I say?
Moleskine Notebook - $15-$25
It’s always smart to have one, two or three of these around the house. I hate post it notes so this is a nice alternative. After all they are the modern Hemingway. Another notebook maker to consider is Field Notes. It’s good for people that think Moleskine pads are overrated.
J. Crew Distress Leather Belt - $54
Again, It’s easy to overpay for leather goods especially belts. J. Crew has a wide range of leather belts for an affordable price. If there’s a Levis store near you that’s another good alternative. Levi’s usually has a ton of sales going on that should allow you to snatch one for a reasonable price.
Now you are one step closer to dressing like Jason Schwartzman, good luck.
